Cavin, Byron Hamilton
June 25, 1873 - November 1940
He was a native of Brown County, Texas but his dad Nathan was from Alabama. His Mom’s last name was Powers. He came to Douglas in 1908 and went to work for the Old El Paso and Southwestern Railroad. Also homesteaded 624 acres in the 20’s. He was the husband of Ida Orlena. Later he went to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad, which he retired from. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
